Six Martin boys’ harriers post personal bests at Shepherd

The Martin High School boys’ Cross Country team finished 10th representing Clipper Nation in a 41-tearm invitational Saturday at Shepherd.

Carsen Young received all-state recognition and Kyle Pallett earned academic all-state accolades. Young had an impressive 12th place finish out of 193 individual runners.

Team members who set personal records at the meet:

• James Blackburn shaved off five seconds from his previous best time.
• Charley Martin shaved off 11 seconds.
• Kyle Pallett cut off 18 seconds
• Eli Dykstra lopped off whopping 55 seconds.
• Travis Marsman turned in the best improvement of all, with a 99-second improvement!

The Martin boys’ and girls’ teams will travel to Allendale this Saturday, Oct. 26, for the MHSAA regional meet,
