The Wayland varsity baseball team’s home season-opening doubleheader Friday was spoiled Friday by visiting Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.
The Trojans swept the twin bill 8-1 and 14-5, thereby taking three of the four games played between the two O-K Gold Conference teams during the week. The two losses dropped the Wildcats’ overall season record to 7-6.
Bradey Weston was 2-for-4 at the plate in the nightcap with two RBIs, while Jamie Snyder went 2-for-3.
TK plated six runs in the second inning of the first game to grab a lead it never surrendered.
