Two former Wayland High School basketball stars are helping to lead the charge for the Cornerstone University hoops squad this season.
Sophomore Cory Ainsworth leads the Golden Eagles in points scored and rebounds and junior Carter Nyp is third on the team in rebounding. Ainsworth is averaging 14 points a game and Nyp 6.4. Both have started in all of their team’s games.
Cornerstone is 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Wolverine-Hoosier Conference.
Ainsworth last year was named to the WHAC all-freshman.
