Two Wayland High School graduates earned honors for their performances for Cornerstone University’s season cut short in March because of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Freshman Cory Ainsworth, a 2019 WHS grad, received the school’s Male Breakthrough Athlete of the Year, awarded to a first-year athlete who exhibits the highest individual results while impacting the team and program. He was the basketball team’s third leading scorer at 11.1 points per game. Sophomore Carter Ny, a 2018 Wayland High School grad, was the team’s top rebounder and averaged 8.0 points per game.
