Two Hopkins female harriers Saturday morning at the regionals in Otsego qualified for the Division 3 state championships next weekend.
Freshman Kambria Moored and sophomore Helena Kerber placed ninth and 12th, respectively, in the 5K race to punch their tickets for the annual race next Saturday at Michigan International Speedway near Brooklyn. Moored finished in 20:21.69 and Kerber in 20:29.0.
The Lady Vikings were sixth in the 12-team competition with 179 points. Host Otsego won with 33.
Rounding out the scoring were Neveah Helderop in 33rd, Jaeden Harshberger 65th and Abigail Zalis 68th.
The Vikings boys were 12th at regionals. Again, host Otsego was team champion.
Adam Ball led Hopkins in 43rd place with a time of 18:36.31. Kenyon Katje was 67th, Nathan Onderlinde 70th, Ryan Williams 76th and Zachary Wisser 93rd.
