

Two former Wayland High School track stars, Maggie Whitney and Zoe Antel, scored some vital points this past weekend for Aquinas College in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) meet.
With the first scored running event of the day, the Aquinas Saints placed second in the 4×800 relay. The team of Kaitlyn Thomas, Lauren Wooer, Maggie Whitney, and Hannah Stitt ran 9:31 to add eight points to AQ’s total.
Whitney, a fifth-year senior, finished second in the open 800-meter run in 2:14. She also was anchor for the 3200-meter relay team that finished second in 9:31. She was involved in scoring 16 points for the Saints.
Antel, a senior, took fifth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:49, picking up five points for Aquinas.
Both former Wildcats competed in cross-country and track at Wayland High School.
