Two Wayland grads score points in WHAC track meet

Two former Wayland High School track stars, Maggie Whitney and Zoe Antel, scored some vital points this past weekend for Aquinas College in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) meet.

With the first scored running event of the day, the Aquinas Saints placed second in the 4×800 relay. The team of Kaitlyn ThomasLauren WooerMaggie Whitney, and Hannah Stitt ran 9:31 to add eight points to AQ’s total.

Whitney, a fifth-year senior, finished second in the open 800-meter run in 2:14. She also was anchor for the 3200-meter relay team that finished second in 9:31. She was involved in scoring 16 points for the Saints.

Antel, a senior, took fifth place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 13:49, picking up five points for Aquinas.

Both former Wildcats competed in cross-country and track at Wayland High School.
