The Hopkins boys’ varsity bowling team took first place in the Zeeland Baker Invitational heldSaturday at Fairlanes in Grandville.
The Lady Vikings rollers finished fifth among 14 teams at the same time.
The boys qualified eighth among 18 teams going in to bracket play after ten games. They beat Calvin Christian in the first round of elimination, then Sturgis A team, then Kenowa Hills, then Grand Haven A team for the championship.
The girls beat Coopersville in bracket play but then ended up losing to Muskegon Mona Shores.
