The O-K Silver Conference fields only three full cross-country teams for its jamborees, and Wednesday’s opener saw Hopkins take second place in both races.
Vikings’ junior Todd Henley emerged as the first Silver individual medalist of the campaign, as he crossed finish line at Riverside Park first in 16:48.96. Calvin Christian captured the next four places, but no one really challenged Henley, the only runner to break 17 minutes.
Dan Rausch finished seventh for Hopkins in 18:20.26, Zach Nutter was 12th, Jake Pastoor 21st and Joe Ludlam 24th. There were 37 individual harriers competing.
The Vikings finished with 49 points, Calvin Christian won with 21 and Wyoming Lee had 60. Kelloggsville, Godwin Heights, Belding and host Northpointe Christian did not field full teams.
