Both the Hopkins girls’ and boys’ varsity bowling teams lost Wednesday to O-K Silver Conference rival Sparta.

After the Baker games, the boys and girls were both down by 10 points heading into head to head match play.  The girls took 7 of the 9 points in the first match with Kennedy Gill (223), Abby Simpson (124), and Leah Helder ( 148) each taking points. The girls on the other hand battled in the second match but came up short.  Two and a half points were taken by the girls, half a point from Olivia Coffey(145), Alayna Ryan (137) took a point, and Abby Simpson took another point (123).  Leah Helder rolled a 173 and Kennedy Gill 169, but it wasn’t enough for the Lady Vikings, as their opponents bowled 179 and 225.

The boys bowled their best head-to-head match this year, with a total pin count of 862 but it wasn’t enough. Hopkins boys took two points Noah Dame (207), Seth Burchardts (147) each won a point, while Charles Benting bowled a 190 and won by 8 pins.

But in the second head-to-head the boys took only one other point, which came from Jack Reynolds’ 167 game.
