The Hopkins girls’ track team captured the runner-up slot Monday at the Comstock Invitational. They accumulated 110 points to Centreville’s 139.
The Viking boys finished fourth among the nine teams with 76.5 points.
Freshman Kambria Moored continued her sensational performances in the hurdles. She won the 100-meter highs in a blistering personal best 16.59 seconds and won the 300 intermediates in 49.31, also a personal best. She also picked up a third in the 200. Teammate Emma Bartz-Peck added a fourth in the 100 highs.
Senior Grace Brenner also was a double winner, taking first in the shot put at 33-0 and in the discus at 79-06.
Jaeden Harshberger had a pretty good day, copping a second in the high jump at 4-9 and a third in the 400.
Freshman Rebekah Beilby was third in the pole vault with her personal best performance and Vanessa Berry was third in the long jump.
Nevaeh Helderop earned points in the 800 and 1600.
For the guys, Mason Tomes continued dominance in the shot put with a winning toss of 44-9 and Tanner Neuman was third in the discus.
The other Viking champ for the day was Logan Klinge in the pole vault, who cleared 12-3.
Adam Ball took third in both the 800 and 1600-meter runs. Isaac Koperski was third in the 110-meter hurdles and fifth in the 300 intermediates. Landen Klinge, Eric Teunissen, Noah Corneille and Trevor Shealy combined efforts three thirds, in the 400-meter relay the 800 relay and the 1600-meter relay.
