The Hopkins girls’ varsity basketball team remained alone undefeated at the top of the O-K Silver Conference standings Tuesday night with a 48-39 triumph over visiting Comstock Park.
The guys, meanwhile, took a 58-36 decision on the road against Comstock Park to even their league record at 3-3. Overall, the Viking boys are 8-4.
Trent Baugh led all scorers with 19 points, followed by 11 from Zander Hitzler and eight from Micah Estelle, who battled back from foul trouble.
“It was a good team win where we played together on both ends of the floor.,” said coach Jake Jewett. “All players contributed, and I’m proud of the focus and maturity we displayed as a team to close out the win.”
The Lady Vikings now are 6-0 in the O-K Silver derby and they are 8-3 overall.
Both Hopkins squads will be at home Friday evening to take on Belding.
