No, it wasn’t a football game. And no, it wasn’t Brenden Gossman on the bowling lanes.
What it was Wednesday was Hopkins defeated Wyoming Godwin Heights 20-0, with Gossman getting the pitching victory by hurling three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, walking none and striking out six.
Basketball star Tyler Zomerlei provided a lot of the offensive fireworks by going 3-for-3 and driving home six runs on two doubles and a single. Others with RBIs were Ezran Tehennepe, Drew Weber, Collin Snyder, Chase Groenhout and Jake Pals.
The Vikings had a 21-hit attack. Gossman, Zomerlei, Braeden Gill, Matt Reynolds, Weber and Carson DeLao each has at least two hits.
Hopkins played errorless ball throughout the contest.
The Vikings now are 2-3 overall.
