Brechting allowed no runs on five hits while striking out six.
Shawn Marschall knocked in three runs, and hit a double in the sixth inning. Hopkinsnever trailed after scoring one run in the fifth on an RBI double by James Wubben.
The Vikings tacked on another four runs in the sixth. Marschall kicked things off with a double, plating Brock Eller, Terry Thomas and Sid VanderTuin. That was followed up by Caleb Ryan’s double, plating Marschall.
Hopkins now owns a 2-1-1 record in the O-K Silver Conference. Overall, the Vikings are 2-2-1.
