Vikings break out of slump in style with 11-0 victory

Hannah Brinks pitched a shutout gem.

Hopkins’ Saturday contest against Kent City can only be best described as astonishing, as they broke out of an offensive slump and took an 11-0 victory in the Coopersville tournament.

The Vikings jumped all over Eagles’ pitcher Jacee Hoffman, who threw a perfect game a couple of weeks ago against White Cloud.

Lyla Reynolds broke out of her recent slump to enjoy yet another four-hit day, coming up with a double, three singles and four runs batted in.

Sierra Smith collected three hits and Emily Dimock and Hannah Brinks each had two with Peyton Roxbury, Madison Schwartz and Ava Vanderkolk one apiece.

Brinks took the shutout win on the mound, limiting Kent City to just two hits. She walked none and struck out five.
