Both Hopkins and Martin will play their post-season playoff openers Friday in enemy territory.
Hopkins, which finished the regular season with a 6-3 record, will play at 7 p.m. Friday at Grand Rapids Catholic Central, which went 5-4. The Vikings hope to right the ship offensively after suffering two shutout defeats in their last two games of the regular season, 18-0 to Decatur and 40-0 to O-K Silver Conference champion Belding.
Martin will have the added incentive of revenge. The Clippers’ only loss of the regular season was a 20-14 verdict against undefeated Gobles. The Clippers are the two-time defending champions in eight-man football. The two teams will meet again at 7 p.m. Friday on the Tigers’ field.
