
The Hopkins girls and boys track teams had a successful outdoor debut Thursday against three O-K Silver Conference opponents.
The Lady Vikings swept their three opponents, besting Fruitport 83.5 to 53.5 , Comstock Park 117 to 12, and North Pointe Christian 93 to 39.
The Viking lads took two of three, beating Comstock Park 110 to 21 and North Pointe 98.5 to 36.5, but falling short to Fruitport 70.17 to 66.83
Perhaps the most astonishing development of the day, however, was Hopkins freshman Luke Klinge clearing 12-6 in the pole vault, fishing three feet ahead of all others.
