The Hopkins boys’ and girls’ varsity track teams breezed to their third consecutive O-K Silver Conference dual meet victories Tuesday afternoon at Wyoming Lee.

The boys won 97-25 and the girls 117-11.

Highlight of the day was the growing amazement over freshman sensation Logan Klinge in the pole vault, who cleared a personal best 12 feet, 5.5 inches. He also won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.31 seconds.

Todd Henley won the 800-meter run, Dan Rausch took the open 400 Trevor Trosko claimed the 300 hurdles, sophomore Trevor Long the shot put, freshman Josh Tew the discus and Trey Collins the long jump.

The Viking lads swept the throwing events and the long jump. They won three of the four relays with Henley, Zach Nutter, Nolan Hugmeyer and Rauch in the 3200; Brady Bockheim, Hunter Braford, Quinten Prather and Kline in the 800, and Bockheim, Braford, Prather and Dylan Roberts in the 400.

The Lady Vikings went one better in the relays, winning all four races. They included Mary Wells Jasmine Fisher, Emma Helder and Alyssa Beilby in the 3200; Kelsey Dusseau, Cassidy Finney, Anna Washburn and Evangelina Helderop in the 800; Finney, Lauren Brown, Helder and Helderop in the 1600, and Paris Corneille, Emaus, Washburn and Alex Jackson in the 400.

Emaus took two individual firsts, in the pole vault and the long jump.

Jackson, only a freshman, captured the 300 hurdles. Brown won the 100 hurdles. Beilby was first in the 3200. Fisher won the 1600, Helder the 400, Helderop the 200, Shannon Henshaw the discus, Olivia Barry the high jump and freshman Grace Brenner the shot put.

Both Hopkins teams will be shooting for their fourth straight Thursday at Godwin.
