The Hopkins High School volleyball team’s amazingly strong start to the season continued Wednesday evening on its home court with a three-set triumph over O-K Silver Conference rival Kelloggsville.

The Vikings wore down the visiting Rockets 25-12, 25-9 and 25-4 to open the Silver Conference campaign. The dual match victory came on the heels of first place finishes in the Lawton Invitational and th e Silver Division of the Cereal City Classic in Battle Creek.

Hopkins, coached by Alicia Kent, already has claimed championships in two tournaments thus far and it shares with Grandville Calvin Christian the favorite position in prospects for the league title. They took that title a year ago just before the retirement of longtime coach Terri Wisser.
