Wayland Middle School eighth-grader Evie Mathis, daughter of Rick and Cindy Mathis of Wayland, placed sixth amongst high school jumpers Saturday in the Michigan Indoor State Meet at the LAB in Ypsilanti. She also tied the state record for eighth grade indoor pole vault at 11′-6″.
