The Wayland High School varsity boys’ bowling team took out Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills Monday by a 22-8 count.

Ottawa rolled its highest baker game of the year with a 190 game to Wayland’s subpar 119.

“I wasn’t worried and knew we would come back and that we did with a 200 to their 98 so we took total pins as well,” explained coach Sherry Miklusicak.

Match one was dominated by the Wildcats, as they took control by winning 7 of 9 points. Kyle VanEss rolled a 182, Jayse Henkel, and Dominik Baker all took their points.  Chandler Caruso and Aydin Tolliver helped contribute to take our team total pins by just 3 pins.

Match two proved to be too much for Ottawa, as Kyle VanEss had a 174, Wil Dewing, Dominik Baker 193 all took their points and total was won as well.

The Wildcat boys are now 6-5 in dual matches for the season overall. The Lady Wildcats are 10-1 after being awarded a 30-0 forfeit Monday Ottawa Hills.
