The Wayland boys’ bowling team took sole possession of first place in the O-K Gold Conference standings Wednesday after a 27-3 victory over Know Hills.

The girls once again had a cakewalk 30-0 win because the Knights had only three bowlers.

The Wildcats, now 9-1 for the season, actually won Baker game one with a 195 game.

“Since we were up and knew we had great chances of winning, some boys were put in for their first varsity Baker game experience,” coach Sherry Miklusicak said. “I am pretty sure they had some fun.

The Wildcats turned back to the starters again for match play. Jayse Henkel rocked it with a 186, Zach Straub 122, Louie Harnish 146, Dom Baker 188 (the high game of the afternoon), Kyle VanEss 173.

The ‘Cats took every single point this game by more than 170 pins.

So in match two Wayland gave some starters a rest and still took total pins this game by exactly ONE PIN!

“If you think one pin doesn’t matter when shooting at a split and taking guaranteed pins, you are just plain wrong!” the coach added.

Dominik Baker took yet another point, Kyle VanEss and Zach Straub shared a game and took their point.

For the Lady Wildcats, Madison Bottrall, Ava Harnish, Jasmine Ortiz, Brooke Trumbull, Haven Baker and Faith Rabideau representated WHS in the win. High game belonged to Haven Baker with a 199, despite a split in the tenth frame.

Both Wildcat teams will be home next week Monday and Wednesday at the Rock ’N Bowl Lanes.
