WHS 2009-10 team reunites to play ‘Cats in scrimmage

Members of the 2009-2010 Wayland High School basketball team reunited Thursday evening to play in a charity scrimmage against the current varsity basketball squad. The Wildcats from that season are regarded as the greatest assemblage of players, with the exception of the team from 1954-55 that went all the way to the Class C state finals. They went 23-0 before losing in the Class A regionals to Holt. However, the old-timers were defeated by the young ‘Cats. (Photo supplied)
