Wayland High School graduate Mallory Teunissen picked up two pitching victories for Davenport University over the weekend.
Davenport started its season with four victories in four games in Tennessee Friday and Saturday.
Teunissen was credited with the win in Davenport’s 8-6 triumph over Georgetown in game two Friday and she came back the next day to win game two 6-2 over Calumet College.
Teunissen, who was Miss Softball Pitching for Wayland in 2015 and a key contributor to the Wildcats’ state championship, continues this year as the regular starter in the second d game of every doubleheader the Panthers play.
Teunissen last season was an all-region selection for Davenport. One of her teammates is fellow WHS grad senior Haley Obetts, first sacker/third sacker.
