WHS grad places in top 6th in grueling race in Colorado

Todd Meconis, a 1993 graduate of Wayland High School and son of Robert and Betty Meconis of Wayland, competed in the Leadville race in Colorado Aug 19. A total of 604 started the grueling race, but only 285 finished, and Meconis finished 91st in 27:10:42. This also is a lottery drawn race, for which he had been trying to apply for three years and he finally was drawn this past year. Todd and his wife, Sarah, currently live in Atlanta Ga.

    100 miles of rocky mountain trail, all above 8000 feet. Mr. Meconis you are one heck of an athlete. Congratulations on a real test of strength and endurance.
