Former Wayland High School basketball standout Stephanie Ainsworth registered her 1,000th career point for Cornerstone Universty in the team’s first game this season. Ainsworth, a senior center for the Golden Eagles. was a four-year starter during her prep career with the Wildcats. She shares the single game scoring record with Presley Hudson and Angie Farmer with 40 points. She has earned a number of accolades for Cornerstone as well. Ainsworth led the team in points at 14.5 per-game, rebounds at 9.3 per-game, and blocks at 70 on the year. She also led the team in field goal percentage shooting 53% on the year. She earned first team all-WHAC, WHAC All-Defensive Team, CSC Academic All-District, NAIA Scholar Athlete, and WHAC All-Academic Honors.
