Wayland High School graduate Maggie Whitney led seventh-ranked Aquinas College to a fifth place finish Saturday in the NAIA Challenge in Grand Rapids. Whitney placed 17th in the 5K race with a time of 18:13. The Saints had three of the top 40 runners in the competition. Whitney was best known at Wayland for being a state track qualifier in the 800-meter race.
