WHS graduate wins another long distance race, this one on Super Sunday

12654357_10153317238091560_6036210735232558868_nRobby Young, a 2003 Wayland High School graduate, has won yet another long-distance race, this one the Super Bowl Sunday Pikes Peak Sports Super Half Marathon in Colorado Springs. Young, who teaches earth science and physics at Ramparts High School in Colorado Springs and head varsity cross country and track coach, is shown here carrying the Golden Game Ball to “pay dirt.” Young plowed through a slick and snowy course to win in a race record time of 1:13:37. An All-American NCAA Division II cross-country runner and track steeplechaser for Grand Valley State University, he competed in track, cross country and swimming for Wayland High School.     Way to go Robby, a great time. The field of runners in that race was strong and the attitude made it even more difficult. Impressive victory.
