Wayland High School senior Ian Thompson has announced he has committed to the Michigan State University track & field program starting next fall. Thompson finished fifth in the 100-meter dash last June in the Division 2 state meet and he won the regional title in that sprint. He also ran a leg of the regional champion 800-meter and 400-meter relay teams. Thompson also was a starting running back for the Wildcat football team.
