Wayland Middle School seventh-grader Maverick Kasprowicz Saturday took first place in the 3200-meter run in the Middle school track regional meet at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids. The Wildcat youngster turned in an eye-popping time of 10:23.78, nearly four seconds ahead of the runner-up contestant.
