The Wayland girls’ varsity basketball team absorbed its second straight defeat Friday night after eight straight victories in a 74-33 loss to East Grand Rapids.

The Lady Wildcats, 8-2 overall and 1-2 in the O-K Gold Conference, next will be at home Tuesday evening to entertain another league opponent, Forest Hills Eastern. The Pioneers, with Friday night’s victory, moved to 9-1 overall, with its only defeat at the hand of state-ranked Hudsonville.

The Wildcat boys, meanwhile, lost 77-53 to East Grand Rapids and saw their overall season record drop to 0-8. They’ll also be at home Tuesday evening at 7:45 to play Forest Hills Eastern.
