Twenty-four hours after WilWHS Boys Bowling Teamdcat bowler Cameron Heintzelman shot his first career 300 game, the Wayland boys’ bowling team continued on their roll of exciting evenings Tuesday by defeating Hopkins 22-8.

Wayland took the first of two baker games 202-161 with Heintzelman striking out in the tenth frame, as he had done the day before. The second baker game was claimed by Hopkins 198-184. Wayland was ahead by total pins 6-4.

Wayland then extended its lead on the Vikings. The team shot 974 the first game to Hopkins 923. High Scorers for Wayland were Nick Couterier 212, Austen Beggs 207 and Heintzelman 202. High scorer for Hopkins was a 216 by David Moore.

Wayland was up 13-6 at this point.

The second head-to-head match was claimed by Wayland as well, 869-782. High scorers for Wayland were Austen Beggs 202 and Cameron Heintzelman 195 and for Hopkins, David Moore 214.

Wildcat coach Sherry Miklusicak said, “From a coach’s perspective, I am very excited in the improvement in baker games and spare shooting. The boys should be very happy with their performance and I hope it builds momentum for this weekend’s opening O-K Conference pre-season tournament at Spectrum Lanes.”
