Zeeland halted the Wayland boys’ varsity bowling team’s three-game winning streak at three Monday night a 23-7 decision.

The ‘Cats started the evening strong with a first Baker game win, 184-144.

“That was looking good, as we had an extra 39 pins to spare for the second Baker,” coach Sherry Miklusicak said. “Unfortunately, it wouldn’t be enough and the rest of the evening went south.”

Scores were low and inconsistent for the Wildcats this evening. High scorers were Dylan Roberts 185, Dillon Smith 209 and 198. Dillon Smith took both his points at anchor even though Zeeland switched anchor bowlers in the second game.

“It seemed they were trying to sweep game two,” Miklusicak said. “Fortunately, Dillon Smith didn’t let that happen. Jordan Peters also took his point in game two with a 179.

“One thing that stands out in tonight’s match were the three pocket 7-10 splits in the tenth frame tonight. Oh that just isn’t fair for either team!”

The defeat was particularly difficult because Wayland defeated Zeeland East/West in December, 25-5.
