The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team closed out its regular season Thursday night with a 52-49 triumph at West Michigan Aviation Academy.
The Wildcats ended their regular season with an 11-11 record overall and they were 5-9 in the O-K Gold Conference, good for fifth place.
Wayland will play in the district tournament opener Monday at Plainwell against the tourney host, which also was 11-11 for the campaign. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, Martin completed a 2-19 regular season with an 83-36 loss to Fruitport Calvary Christian. The Clippers will be the host team next week in the Division 4 districts and will play Monday evening.
