The Wayland boys’ varsity cross-country team took sixth place in the 11-team Cedar Springs Invitational Saturday morning.
Sparta won the meet with 72 team points. Wayland scored 146.
Junior Dylan Pallett turned in a time of 16:51.4. Isaac Dyer checked in 17:17.21, good for 19th, and freshman Xander Stepek crossed the line in 27th with a time of 17:41.88 in the 5K race.
Freshman Mason Fein was 53rd in 18:52.65 and sophomore Ethan Manning 56th in 19:06.46.
The Wildcats girls’ varsity failed to field the minimum requirement of five runners and did not register a team score.
