Wildcat boys’ hoops team stuck on No. 4 slot in state poll

It’s beginning to sound like imga broken record, but the Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team is rated No. 4 again in the latest Associated Press state-wide Class B poll.

Coach Mike Hudson’s Wildcats have been fourth in the state for the last six weeks in a row. They are 13-1, with their only loss coming against Class A Forest Hills Central in the Cornerstone University holiday tournament.

The Wildcats will be at Mattawan for a nonleague contest tonight and will play at home Friday evening against O-K Gold Conference rival Hastings. They will play at South Christian next Tuesday and then will face Class A Grand Rapids Ottawa Hills for bragging rights to the conference championship.

The Lady Wildcats also will be at Mattawan tonight and at home against Hastings Friday evening,
