Wildcat boys lose 17-13 match to TK on the lanes

The Wayland boys’ varsity bowling team lost 17-13 Monday night to O-K/Green Conference rival Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.

“I think if my boys could meet the man behind Baker games, they might have a few things to say to him!” exclaimed coach Sherry Miklusicak. “I can’t really describe the words my boys must be feeling… so many lost matches that are really close.

The Wildcats lost Baker game one by only 5 pins and Baker game two was lost by only 4 pins. A total of 9 pins put them behind 10-0.

Game one was a tie, giving Wayland 4 points and the Trojans took 5 despite both teams having the same amount of total pins. Christian Courser took his point with a 175 game as did Dylan Dillon Smith with a 191. Bryan Frank had a 192 and Dylan Roberts had a fine 201, but they came up short.

Game two went to Wayland by 10 pins, so that gave the ‘Cats another 2 points for total.

“Since we needed a sweep to tie, we lost the match as three of the five bowlers took their points.”

Jordan Peters had a 169, Bryan Franck rolled a nice 200, and Dylan Roberts 192 game, for the three points.

“We will face them again at our house next week,” Miklusicak said, “but conditions have been pretty tough there lately. Hopefully we will have the advantage and avenge our loss.”
