The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team will play in the Division 2 District tournament finals at 6 p.m. Saturday at Hopkins.
The Wildcats came from behind to defeat Plainwell 54-49 Thursday in the semifinal round to lift their overall season record to 3-10. They will play either Hopkins (8-7) or Otsego (10-2) for the district championship.
Wayland trailed 40-32 after the first three periods had been completed, but went on a 22-9 run in the final eight minutes. The ‘Cats scored the last nine points of the ballgame.
