The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team now owns a 2-1 season record overall after a 57-47 non-league triumph Friday night over visiting Comstock Park.
If the Wildcats can win another, they will match their victory total from a year ago when they made it to the district finals. They have defeated Hopkins and Comstock Park, both members of the O-K Silver Conference, and have lost to annual powerhouse Grand Rapids West Catholic.
The visiting Panthers, with the defeat, fell to 1-2 on the campaign this season thus far.
Wayland will play West Michigan Aviation next Tuesday evening before taking the holiday break.
