The Wayland boys’ varsity track team posted its third O-K Gold Conference dual meet victory Wednesday with a resounding 102-35 triumph over Middleville Thornapple Kellogg.

The Lady Wildcats’ squad, however, remained winless in duals in a 90-47 loss to one of the better girls’ track squads in the area.

Senior Seth Sevenski-Popma had yet another banner day, winning the 100-meter dash (11.73 seconds), the 200 (22.97) and the 400-meter run (51.50). He, Caleb Wolf, Devin Jakey and Josh Butler took all three first places in the three events.

Sophomore Austin Reeder, Tryston Sloan and Devin Westfahl swept the 110-meter high hurdles and Westfahl and Sloan went 1-2 in the 300 hurdles.

The Wildcats swept all relays, featuring Reeder, Ian Thompson, Butler and Justin Holtz in the 400; Bryce Mulder, Holtz, Ashton Ordway and Sevenski-Popma in the 800; Wolf, Holtz, Jakey and Butler in the 1600, and Elijah Gamelin, Alessandro Porta, Caleb Pletcher and Andrew VanBaal in the 3200.

Pletcher and Porta took the top two spots in the 800-meter run.

Robert Bausick once again dominated the throws, winning the shot at 44-9.5 and the discus at 123-03.

Jakey captured first in the long jump, leaping a half inch more than 20 feet.

Juniors Rylee Cronkright, Jessica Hortman and Corrina Courser were multiple winners for the Lady Wildcats.

Cronkright, continuing to recover from injuries suffered a year ago, took the 160—meter run with a time of 5:41.88 and the 3200 in 12:17.81.

Courser broke the tape first in the 100 dash at 13.05, was first in the 100-meter hurdles at 16.04 seconds and won the 300 hurdles in 48,21 seconds. She also was anchor for the winning 800 relay with Mackenzie Wolf, Khylea Wells and Madelyn Probst.

Hortman turned in her best performances to date in the throws, winning the shot put at 20-04 and the discus at 90-11.5.

On a side note, Probst cleared a respectable 4-8 in the high jump, but Trojan standout Claudia Wilkinson leaped an impressive 5-2.
