The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team pulled out a 44-42 victory at Middleville Thornapple Kellogg Tuesday night in both teams’ first O-K Gold contest of the season.
The game, a defensive struggle, was close throughout, with the Wildcats taking a slight lead in the third quarter and then having to hold on in the final eight minutes.
Wayland, now 6-2 overall, will play at home Friday night in another O-K Gold encounter against Wyoming.
