The Wayland boys’ varsity basketball team is ranked No. 5 in this season’s first state-wide Associated Press poll.
The Wildcats, who sport a 5-1 record overall this season, will be back in action Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at Grand Rapids Catholic Central. irdonically, the Wayland girls’ squad, which will play at 6 p.m. Friday, will take on the AP’s No. 1 Class B team in the state in the undefeated Cougars (8-0).
Wyoming Godwin Heights, which plays in the O-K Silver Conference with Hopkins, is No. 1 and Grandville Calvin Christian, another Silver team, is ranked No. 6 in Class C.
