The Wayland boys’ track team copped first place Monday in the Comstock Invitational with 182 points and Hopkins took third with 109.
Winners for Wayland included:
- Macarty Carpenter, 48’8.5″ in the shot put and 136’3″ in the discus.
- Perry Carter, 11’0″ in the pole vault and 4:56.6 in the 1600-meter run.
- Carter, Jeremy Pletcher, Caleb Pletcher, Owen Glass in the 3200 relay, 8:59.49.
- Lee Anderson, 300 low hurdles, 43.16.
- Owen Glass, 800 meters, 2:11.48.
- Jonathan Zuiderveen, 3200 meters, 10:48.11.
Hopkins also scored a trophy for being runner-up among Division 3/4 schools at the meet.
Event champions were:
- Logan Blank (110-meter hurdles)
- Jake Sytsma (high jump)
- 4×400 Relay — Dan Rausch, Nick Belka, John Parmeter, Zach Rietman.
