The Wayland girls’ varsity basketball team bounced back Friday from its shocking upset loss 24 hours earlier by turning back Middleville Thornapple Kellogg 57-50.
The victory propelled the Lady Wildcats’ overall season record to 5-1. Middleville, meanwhile, fell to 4-2 overall.
The Wayland boys dropped a 59-36 decision to Thornapple Kellogg on the Trojans’ floor to slip to 1-5 overall this season.
Both the boys’ and girls’ teams will play Forest Hills Eastern Tuesday, the girls on the road, the boys at home.
