Wildcats sweep Catholic Central in doubleheader

The Wayland softball team Friday defeated Grand Rapids Catholic Central twice, winning 18-3 and 17-0.

In the first game, Rya VanderKooi went 3 for 3, with two singles and a triple. Emma Ludema and Kayla Reed had two hits apiece. Ludema had two doubles and Reed had a triple and a double. Grace Kincaid and Kennedy Cole both had a triple.
Emma Ludema took the victory on the mound.
In the second game, Grace Kincaid was 3-for-3 with two home runs and a single. Kennedy Cole had a double and Rya VanderKooi had a triple.
Kayla Reed took the shutout victory on the mound.

The Lady Wildcats now are 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the O-K Gold Conference.
