It wasn’t a good day Wednesday at Wayland’s home golf course, Orchard Hills.
The Wildcats, fresh from last week’s TK Invitational title and seconds in the first two O-K Gold Conference jamborees earlier in the season, settled for a disappointing fifth Wednesday at the most recent Gold tourney.
East Grand Rapids carded a combined score of 153. The Wildcats were just a stroke away from fourth with a 168.
Rory Myers led the team with a nine-hole score of 38 and Cayd Vermaat had a 40, followed by Rory Bessinger’s44 and 46s from Carson Sevigny and Tyler Omness to round out the scoring.
Wayland will look to bounce back at the Lynx golf course Friday for the Allegan County Tournament.
