The Wayland boys’ bowling team improved to 5-1 in the O-K Gold Conference Wednesday afternoon, 27-3, over Ottawa Hills.

The Wildcats started by sweeping the Baker games by scores of 192-105 and 199-118. Jayse Henkel went 4-for-4 with three strikes and a spare, Louie Harnish filled both of his frames, and Kyle VanEss tore it up at anchor with five strikes and two spares.

In match one, the Wildcats shot a combined 955 game, showing some serious bowling. Jayse Henkel had a 193, Louie Harnish 145, Wil Dewing 138, Dominik Baker 223, and Kyle VanEss 256.

“We took every point this match except one,” remarked coach Sherry Miklusicak, pushing the score to 17-1.

Match two had Jayse Henkel rolling a 150, Raynie Arensen 160, Wil Dewing 195, Dominik Baker 172, and Kyle VanEss 188 (Kyle cut  his finger just a little on the ball return so his 10th frame was just a little challenging because we had to tape up his finger).

Your Wildcats take on South Christian next Monday and have a showdown match Wednesday against Catholic Central at their house.
