Wayland High School senior Corrina Courser missed out on a chance to run varsity track for her fourth season this spring because of COVID-19, but she’s learned she has earned a track scholarship from Central Michigan University.
Courser, who plans to enroll in the sports medicine program at CMU, holds the Wayland school record in the 100-meter high hurdles with a blistering time of 16.03 seconds. She also has been a heavy scorer in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, the 200-meter dash and as being part of the 800-meter relay team.
She also was part of the Wayland cross-country team that qualified for the state meet in the fall of 2017, even though she ran distance just to keep in shape for track.
