The Wayland boys’ and girls’ middle school track teams both had a terrific day in their season openers Friday, by placing first in a six-team invitational.
The invitational meet included competitors Wyoming, Caledonia-Duncan Lake, Godwin Heights, Wyoming Park and Holland Black River. The girls team earned 125 points to outdistance Duncan Lake with 87. The boys team earned 116 points while runner-up Wyoming had 78.
Individual results are available from Athletic.net.
The teams are coached by Jennifer Antel and Aaron Wissner.
The Wildcat middle school squads will entertain Caledonia Duncan Lake at 4 p.m. Monday, April 20.
“Everyone is invited to watch what promises to be a very exciting dual meet at home,” said Wissner.
