Emma Tornes, hard-hitting outfielder for the Wayland varsity softball team, has been named to the Division 2 all-state team.
Coach Cheri Ritz announced the selections Wednesday.
Earning Division 2 honorable mention accolades were catcher-infielder Kennedy Cole, who led the team in home runs, and ace pitcher Emma Ludema, who came up with three no-hit performances this spring.
The Lady Wildcats finished the season with a 34-4 overall record, went undefeated in O-K Gold Conference play, won district and regional championships and bowed out by one run, 5-4, in extra innings to eventual state champion Owosso.
All three honorees from Wayland are scheduled to be back in action next spring.
Where is the picture of Emma Tornes that made the all state division 2 team? Why only picture the honorable mentions?
Go to townbroadcast.com. It won’t show up in Facebook, but it will on the web site because I put her photo as the featured picture. I know, it’s weird the way it works.
Thanks! That picture is so outdated! Like middle school outdated!
Can you send me another as a jpeg?
I sent one through messenger. Thank you.
